This is an exciting career opportunity within one of the prominent  non-profit organisations in South Africa, whose impact has a broad reach to  academics, civil society and  to people within townships and  rural communities.    The role is to lead, and direct the organisation, giving strategic direction and providing operational oversight to a team of professional staff, and various partners and service providers, who work with the organisation in the field.   Excellent experience in management at Executive level will provide the expertise to build this organisation into the future, and create opportunities for growth.
This role in particular provides the interaction, relationship and external “face” of the organisation in terms of generation of funding and stakeholder investment, and is an important link to foundations, trusts and international bodies who provide support across their programmes.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with people both locally and internationally across a very broad spectrum and at all levels. This will include media liaison, public speaking and development of partnerships with various stakeholders outside of the NGO sector as well.   You will have strong people development skills, a focus on capacity building and if necessary, also provide input on training.  It would be an advantage to have strong links with academia, non-government and the civil society sector, as the need to network extensively is an essential part of this role.   It does involve extensive travel both locally and internationally.

You will have relevant Post Graduate qualifications and proven record of sound governance, financial and resource management, as well as,
 at least ten years of working within the non-profit sector.
